There are two key locations when treating around mobile homes for brown recluse spiders. In fact the first is underneath the home, behind the skirt, where it's typically dark, dank and ideal for many kinds of spiders. But don't use an aerosol for this. Aerosols are not good for use outside the home. Instead, use something that will last several months. Deltamethrin Dust is ideal and should be applied with a Dustin Mizer.

You should also treat the outside of the home paying special attention to the skirt as well as the roof line up above all the windows and doorways. This is a common route of entry for all kinds of pests including spiders. Treat these areas with Cyonara.

Hi,
We are having a large amount of brown recluse spiders in our mobile home. Would it be wise to remove some of the skirting and treat underneath as well as inside? If so, do you suggest a "bomb" type cannister to fog the underneath?

@Rhonda Roland: I would treat inside with the PT-Phantom listed above. It's very effective on spiders and a great way to start.

Phantom: http://www.bugspraycart.com/insecticide/aerosol/pt-phantom-17-5oz

Next, I'd spray under the home as mobile homes tend to get spiders and other insect problems up under the structure. Use the Cypermethrin or the Lamda for this treatment.

Cypermethrin: http://www.bugspraycart.com/insecticide/liquid/viper-cypermethrin

Lamda: http://www.bugspraycart.com/insecticide/liquid/cyonara-32-oz-rts

And be sure to spray the entire outside of the mobile home too so they aren't nesting anywhere on the building. You may have to spray monthly for a few months till the problem is knocked out and once they're gone, you can cut back the applications to once every 2-3 months to keep it in check.
